Colors

Colors are used for textures and text elements in ClickSigns.

Texture pipelines and text elements in ClickSigns can have color properties. These all use the same color format, which is described here.

Keep in mind that in case you input an invalid color, the color will default to a bright red color.

Named Colors

The following named colors are available by default:

  • white, black, blue, green, brown, red, yellow, text_light. text_dark.

However, a road sign can have some extra colors defined. These are derived from it's texture source's base texture (a static texture or a tileset). It is common (and encouraged) that the textures at least define the following colors:

  • foreground – The color of the text and symbols that best match this texture and have good contrast.

If a texture doesn't define foreground, ClickSigns will try to decide a good foreground color based on the contrast level with the primary color of the texture. However, this is not always accurate, so pack developers should define a foreground color in the texture.

Hex Colors

You can use hex colors in the format #rrggbb or #aarrggbb, where rr, gg, bb are the red, green, and blue components of the color, and aa is the alpha (transparency) component. The # is optional, so you can also use rrggbb or rrggbbaa.

Examples: #42f5ce, 80f3fa1b, #b31bfa, etc.

Color Modifiers

After a color, you can use the following modifiers to change the color:

  • :a<percentage> – Adjusts the alpha (transparency) of the color by the given percentage.
    • <percentage> must be >= 10, since otherwise the color is almost invisible.
  • :l<percentage> – Lightens the color by the given percentage.
  • :d<percentage> – Darkens the color by the given percentage.

Examples:

  • green:a50 – Green color with 50% transparency.
  • black:l20 – Black color lightened by 20%.
  • red:d10:a75 - Red color darkened by 10% and with 75% transparency.
